The vibrant three-day Paush Mela at Sister Nivedita University commences today, inaugurated by esteemed personalities including Padmashree Purna Das Baul, Bibhas Chakraborty, Prof (Dr) Barun Kr. Chakraborty, Amita Dutta, Rajesh Pandey (IAS), filmmaker Goutam Ghose, and Swami Jnanalokananda Maharaj. Running until January 15, this cultural extravaganza guarantees a delightful amalgamation of tradition, beauty, and creativity.
The Paush Mela at Sister Nivedita University will feature a diverse range of cultural expressions, from soul-stirring Baul songs to visually captivating live graffiti, enchanting Chhau dance to delectable Peetha-Puli.
Speaking to Taaza TV, Vice Chancellor Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay expressed that the inspiration behind organizing the event was the absence of Paush Mela at Visva-Bharati this year, stating, "When we heard that Visva-Bharati is not conducting Paush Mela, our teachers thought that we should do this." Notably, this marks the first time Sister Nivedita University has hosted the Paush Mela.
